Omprakash Sah Kanu

Omprakash Sah Kanu is a full-stack software engineer based in Parker, Colorado, with 6+ years of experience shipping production software across web, streaming video, native Mac, and AI systems. He is the creator and sole engineer of RapidPhoto, a privacy-first batch photo editor for Mac that processes up to 500 photos entirely on-device.

Most recently, Omprakash was a Software Engineer III at Charter Communications (Greenwood Village, CO · Aug 2022 -Dec 2025), building the Spectrum TV platform in TypeScript, React, and Redux-Saga across Desktop, Samsung TV, Xbox, Xumo, and Chromecast. He architected a platform-agnostic lifecycle state machine in XState that normalized OS-level events across TV devices into deterministic application states, built suspend-aware API execution controls for deterministic resume behavior, and contributed to a Retrieval-Augmented Generation knowledge base on Spectrum's internal LLM. He also collaborated with the core video team to tune Shaka Player Adaptive Bitrate logic and ship a new caching strategy, reducing Time-To-First-Frame and buffering incidents on a multi-million-user platform.

Before Charter, Omprakash was a Software Engineer at IBM (June 2021 -Aug 2022), where he delivered a real-time financial dashboard for a Fortune 100 finance client on Splunk + Grafana + Vega-Lite + React, and consolidated 15 internal applications into a single unified React platform that hit 100% adoption within its first week. Earlier, as a founding engineer at BlockAppsAI in Bengaluru (July 2019 -June 2021), he built PredAID, an Angular + Flask + MongoDB cancer-screening application demoed at hospitals across Bangalore and Kerala, and shipped Safe Kerala, a Python/TensorFlow traffic violation detection pipeline that reached 96.5% mAP and was selected by the Kerala state government for city-wide deployment.

Omprakash holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Delhi and is a co-author on "SHOMAN: A method for important nodes in a network," published in IJBIDM, Vol. 19, No. 3 (2021).

Alongside RapidPhoto, his independent work includes Loopn, a Retrieval-Augmented Generation alternative to LinkedIn built on AWS Bedrock, Lambda, OpenAI, LangChain, Amplify Gen 2, AppSync, DynamoDB, Next.js, and OpenSearch; Vibe (iOS) and CreateProfilePic.io, AI image editing tools currently serving 150+ active users on Firebase + Next.js + Flutter; and an autonomous voice AI agent for restaurant phone orders (OpenAI + LangChain + Azure Speech + Twilio + Stripe). He writes about batch photo workflows, on-device AI, and indie shipping on the RapidPhoto blog.
